Problem

ActiveSync 4.1 or greater is required to install Tarascon to a Pocket PC device. The error may also pop-up for users with Windows Vista who have not downloaded the most recent installer.


Solution
If you are not using Windows Vista then this error indicates that you do not have Microsoft Activesync installed or you do not have a supported version of Activesync.
  • You must install ActiveSync before you can install Tarascon to your PocketPC device. You can download the latest version of ActiveSync from here.

If you are using Windows Vista, this error means that you are not using the correct installer.

  • Go to www.tarascon.com and log into your PDA account.
  • Download the "Windows Installer" and save it to your computer.
  • Use the security workaround that is described in this knowledgebase article.
  • Run the installer on your Windows Vista machine.
